Julie’s art begins with a sense of adventure. Travel and an explorer’s spirit have brought her to the forests, meadows, mountains and villages that are the subjects of and inspiration for her work. The great outdoors is a fascinating studio. Favorite locations range from a southern Argentina backpacking trip to small compelling villages in Italy or Ireland, but her eye can still find the beauty in a window with filtered light at home.
With only a camera as companion, her mind travels farther from the ordinary. New images, not preconceived, occur in these journeys of self discovery.
